protagonists are searching for alternative arrangements to participate in the Million March programme at Hyderabad on March 10. Police have already told private vehicles owners not to send their vehicles to Hyderabad on March 10.
They have collected information of private vehicles in Nizamabad district in order to keep tab on them in the run-up to the march. The district police decided to set up check-posts at Karimnagar and Adilabad district borders to prevent Telangana protagonists from proceeding towards Hyderabad.
In addition, prohibitory orders were clamped under Section 30, Police Act in the district. This time, police are concentrating on private educational institutions who regularly provide vehicles to the agitators.
They have directed school and college managements not to provide vehicles for the Million March programme. Speaking to this newspaper, Bodhan deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Jaffar Javed said that violators of Section 30, Police Act would face criminal cases.
“We have already told vehicle owners as well as school correspondents not to provide vehicles for the march,” he said. Mobilisation of people for the Million March and engaging vehicles were strictly prohibited, he said.
Meanwhile, Telangana protagonists have decided to reach Hyderabad two days before the Million March to avoid police restrictions.
A few important leaders of the Telangana Joint Action Committee have already left for the state capital to take part in protest programmes. It is learnt that a section of Telangana protagonists has gone underground to avoid preventive arrests by police. The TJAC chairman, Prof. M. Kodndaram announced after intense consultations that the agitation would start in the afternoon and limited to taking out rallies from certain parts of Hyderabad in view of Intermediate exam in the morning. Different JACs will start mobilisation programmes for the Million March from Tuesday.
